In 2000 Steve recorded the album 'Purple Heather' with his friend John Green in their band Ballymac (also known as Ballymacmanaman). In 2002 Steve and John toured Ireland playing their music to sell outs each night, often asked back for a second performance the night after. Sadly John passed away unexpectedly in August 2005, a life tragically cut short after only 42 years. There is no doubt that had he still been alive he would have been invited, no urged, to make Tapestry a trio instead of a duo. John had a golden voice, and was a fantastic musician. John O'Dreams was the song Steve and John played the most; apart from it being a beautiful song it was particularly appropriate as John suffered with severe depression and Steve was (is) an insomniac, craving sleep! John is of course now sleeping and in God's memory. In dedicating this album to John, then 'John O'Dreams' is the only possible title.

Tracks include:

From Clare To Here, Botany Bay, Three Drunken Maidens, I'll Tell Me Ma, Belfast Mill, The Fields of Athenry,

The Sally Garden, Wild Mountain Thyme, Cockles And Mussels, Red Is The Rose, Ships Are Sailing, Chief O'Neill's Favourite, The Maid Behind The Bar, Planxty Irwin, and of course... John O'Dreams

Tapestry with John Green

We are recording this album as though John (on the right, playing guitar) were with us. Steve (on the left, playing banjo) has the master audio files from Purple Heather so with some digital wizardry Jane's vocal is being added to five of the original tracks. Another five of the tracks are being recorded again from scratch with just Steve and Jane. To keep things equal, five of the tracks will be exactly as John and Steve recorded them eighteen years ago!
